Town Manager's Report

StStreets:

·         Staff repaired some street signs around town.

·         Staff patched some pot holes around town.

·         Staff removed some of the snow flags from the hydrants

·         Staff installed rear address numbers at 22 E. Lincoln Ave. and 140 S. Seton Ave.

WWater:

·         Rainbow Lake is at the spillway level. 

·         The roughing filters are being backwashed once a day and the DE filters are being done once a week.

·         Our wells are down an average of 4.0 feet from May 2011 levels. 

·         Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 296,726 GPD.  We consumed an average of 277,741 GPD.

 

 The difference is "Backwash Water" ... (6.4%). We purchased 457,950 gallons of water from MSM this month.

o    37.6% of this water came from wells. 

o      4.1% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's.

o    58.3% of this water came from Rainbow Lake. 

WWastewater:

·         The overland flow treatment system is shut-down for the season.

·         We received about 6.2 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.8 inches).  

o    We have a precipitation surplus of 9.6" over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from November 1 thru April 30 is 21.5".  We have received 31.1" for that period.

·         Wastewater Treatment:

 

o    We treated an average of 660,000 GPD (consumed 277,741 GPD) which means that 57.9% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water". 

o    We had two spills of untreated sewerage on April 30th at MH 98 and MH 35 totalling 23,400 GALS.

o    We exceeded the plant’s design capacity on four days in the month of April.

TrTrash:  Trash pickup will remain Mondays for the remainder of the month of May with the exception of Monday, May 26th (Memorial Day) which will be picked up on Tuesday, May 27th.

PaParks:

·         Staff performed repairs in the restrooms in both Memorial and Community Parks.

·         Staff has prepared the garden plots for the season.

·         Staff has placed the rain barrels in community park.

·         Staff has performed all standard checks in the parks.
