Town Manager's Report

Streets:

Staff took down Christmas decorations

Staff repaired a number of street lights

Staff plowed and salted a number of streets

Staff replaced the street light control eye on Silo Hill Parkway

Water:

Rainbow Lake is at the spillway level

The roughing filters are being backwashed three times a day and the DE filters are being done twice a week. 

Our wells are down an average of 11.0’ from their May 2011 levels.  

Water production and consumption   

o We produced and purchased an average of 347,896 GPD.  We consumed an average of 312,254 GPD.  

 The difference is "Backwash” Water ... (10.2%). We purchased 618,530 gallons of
 water from MSM this month.
 

o 47.5% of this water came from wells.   

o   5.7% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's. 

o 46.8% of this water came from Rainbow Lake.  

 Wastewater:

The overland flow treatment system is shut down for the season. 

We received about 2.9” of precipitation this month (the average is 3.7”).    

o We have a precipitation SURPLUS of 4.8" over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from August 1 thru January 31 is 22.1".  We have received 26.9" for that period. 

Wastewater Treatment:    

o We treated an average of 545,000 GPD (consumed 312,254 GPD) which means that 42.7% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".

o WE had no spills of untreated sewerage in January.

o We exceeded the plant’s design capacity on three days in the month of January.

Trash:  

Trash pickup will remain Mondays for the remainder of the month of February.

Parks:

Staff has performed standard mowing and trimming in all parks.

Playground Specialist installed 68 cubic yards of wood carpet mulch around the playground equipment in Community Park
