Town Manager's Report
July 2008

Streets:

  • Staff  maintained flower hanging pots on the square

  • Staff has repaired a number of street lights

  • Mr. Striper painted centerline & parking on Silo Hill Road

  • Staff installed bollards along South School Lane

  • Staff replaced "No Parking" signs on Frailey Road

Water:

  • Rainbow Lake is now about 8" below the spillway, but our five wells appear to be holding up well

  • The roughing filters are now being backwashed twice per day and the DE filters are being done once per week

  • Staff has recently drained, cleaned and refilled water storage tank No.1 (500,000 gals)

    Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 348,036 gpd.  We consumed an average of 298,454 gpd   

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(14.2%).   We purchased 739,000 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 46.0% of this water came from wells 

    •   6.8% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 47.2%  of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • Staff is continuing to operate the overland flow treatment system

  • We received about 2.2 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.6 inches)

    • We have a surplus of 6.3" of  precipitation over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from Feb 1 thru July 31 is 23.2" and we have received 29.5" for that period. 

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 269,000 gpd (consumed 298,454 gpd) which means that 0.0% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".  

    • We experienced no spill of untreated sewerage during the month of July       

  • We did not exceed the plant's design capacity during the month of July

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of August, 2008, 

Parks:

  • Staff made all standard checks and emptied trash cans

  • Staff repaired ball field fences

  • Staff repaired ladders at the swimming pool

  • Staff cut down a dead tree in Memorial Park

  • Staff repaired chlorine pump at swimming pool

  • Staff performed standard mowing and trimming

  • Staff installed new low barrier fence at swimming pool parking lot
