Weekly Activity Log

*Due to the nature of my internship, I have organized my record into weeks.  The schedule is very laid back and I work out of my supervisor’s home rather than an office, so my hours are scattered.  I found it more efficient to explain my progress in terms of weeks rather than days.

Week 1 (1/19/04):  Orientation – My supervisor introduced me to the website, showed me the specific pages I would be working with, issued my responsibilities, and talked about the theory of website knowledge-sharing.

Week 2 (1/26/04):  Training – I learned how to use the text recognition software in order to scan and edit documents, especially Chambers’ Book of Days (month of May), which I will primarily be working on for the first half of the semester

Week 3 (2/2/04):  Scanning and Editing – Scanned in pages of Book of Days and did rigorous editing to ensure the efficiency of the pages.

Week 4 (2/4/04):  Scanning and Editing

Week 5 (2/16/04): More scanning and Editing; Introduction to Web Marketing and Content Organization – My supervisor spent a few hours with me explaining the philosophy behind web marketing (how to attract users, networking, content, etc.).  I have also begun working on my own articles to post to the site.

Week 6 (2/23/04):  Attended a meeting for the Olympic Weightlifting Championship held at the Mount this July (website created by my supervisor); Scanning and Editing; Article Submission – wrote and submitted an article titled “Breaking Body Image Barriers” about teen dieting habits.  It was posted to site with link to bio and reusme.
