The New Forest Society, Inc. is dedicated to the protection and restoration of natural resources which impact the watershed area in Northern Frederick County, Maryland.

This includes: Supporting efforts to establish and maintain riparian buffers which filter pollutants and halt erosion; Developing network, outreach, and research systems which encourage participation in reforestation programs; Providing and distributing educational materials which encourage citizen involvement in the protection of the environment; Partnering with local, state and federal agencies as well as private organizations to coordinate plans for regional conservation of natural resources and land preservation.
