Local Firefighter Peter Giannini visited Up County and its participants on Wednesday morning.  He shared with the families what to do if you find your house on fire and how to alert the firefighter to your location.

Fireman Pete allowed the children to come up and touch his clothing so they would not be afraid when they encountered a firefighter in their home.  It can be a frightening experience to see someone looking like Darth Vader coming to rescue you from a burning building and Fireman Pete was able to reassure the children.

After his demonstration on what the firefighter does and looks like, Mr. Giannini read a firefighter story to the children, both young and old. Firefighter Pete left some educational material for parents and coloring pages, along with firefighter hats, for the children.
