Other Activity

  • On July 7, the staff attended a multi-jurisdictional planning agency meeting at the Adams Agricultural Center, Gettysburg. The purpose was to continue discussions on regional planning and development issues.

  • On July 7, the staff attended and staffed the meeting of the Emmitsburg Board of Appeals. The purpose of the meeting was to consider a variance for an accessory garage in the Village Zone. The variance was granted.

  • On July 8, the Town entertained its first pool party of the Summer. The theme was family Night

  • On July 12, the staff attended the meeting of the Frederick County Commission. The purpose was to seek and receive water and sewer reclassifications for property off of Creamery Road.

  • In July the staff completed the retrofit of all parking meters. All meters now reflect the new parking rate

  • In July the staff prepared one text amendment to the Emmitsburg Code (zoning).

  • On July 22, the Town entertained its second pool party of the season. This was a teen party.

  • In July, the staff purchased and installed pool umbrellas at the picnic tables at Community Pool. Additional pool umbrellas are on back order and should be in this week. New anti slip strips were also installed in the pool’s bath houses.

  • On July 26, Codes enforcement personnel attended and completed street flagging certification classes.

  • On July 27, the staff along with Mr. Haller met with representatives of Buckeye Development to continue preliminary discussions on potential annexations of Silver Fancy Farm.
