  • January 26 - Board of Appeals Meeting - Appletree Homes. At this meeting the BOA denied the appeal of 11 permits filed by Appletree Homes.
  • January 31 - Planning and Zoning Commission Workshop - Comprehensive Plan, Chapter 5 Transportation Planning. Another workshop has been scheduled for February 28 at 6 p.m.

  • On January 6 the staff met with representatives of Triad Engineering for the purpose of soliciting a bid for an environmental assessment of Creamery Road Sewer Rehab Project and CDBG grant. The staff now has a quote for this assessment to present to the Board.
  • On January 13, the staff met with representatives of Buckeye development to discuss possible reductions of Letters of credit for Pembrook Woods Subdivision. A letter of recommendation on such reductions was then forwarded from Frederick County on January 25 and forwarded to this Board on January 27.
  • On January 13, the staff and Mr. Haller met with representatives of Emmitsburg Glass to review that firm’s employment data for the Creamery Road Sewer Rehab Project and CDBG Grant.
  • On January 17, the staff met with Jim Gangawere of the Frederick County Department of Economic Development, to discuss County support for the Creamery Road Sewer Rehab Project and to identify vacant commercial properties in Emmitsburg for a county wide inventory.
  • On January 19, the staff met with representatives of EBA Engineering and ARS Consulting to finalize proposals for the review and evaluation of roads in Pembrook Woods as per the Board’s direction. Those quotes were delivered to the Board on February 2, 2005.
  • On January 20, the staff met with representatives of King Construction and the Maryland State Highway Administration to finalize the connection of the new Welcome Center to the Town’s water system, and the scoring of water connection fees required for this project.
  • On January 25 the staff along with Mr. Haller, Ms. Joy, Mr. Henry, representatives of Fox and Associates, and Delauter Construction conducted a bimonthly review of the Mountain View Road Water Project.
     
  • On January 25, the staff along with Mr. Haller met with Town Attorney John Clapp in Frederick in order to prepare for the January 26 Board of Appeals meeting.
     
  • During January the staff prepared two text amendments to the Emmitsburg Code.

  • Text Amendment, Title 17 of the Emmitsburg Code - Expansion of Critical Emergency Services in the Village Zone - The Vigilant Hose Company - Recommendation from the Emmitsburg Planning and Zoning Commission.
  • Review and Award of Engineering Study Bids - Pembrook Woods Roads - Request of the Emmitsburg Board of Commissioners.
  • Request for Letter of Credit Reduction - Pembrook Woods Sections I and II, Storm Water Management - Recommendation from the Frederick County Department of Development Review.
