During the Month of September the Planning staff staffed and represented the Town at the following meetings.

  • September 23, 2004, Upper Monacacy Water Shed Restoration Steering Committee.
  • On September 9, 2004 the staff met in Emmitsburg with Mr. Jim Gatto Director of Urban Planning, Maryland Department of Planning (MDP), and Ms. Laverne Gray, MDP to discuss economic development strategies and possible trips to, and correspondence with other Maryland communities.
  • On September 15, the staff met with representatives of the Emmitsburg Osteopathic Clinic to review final site plan revisions to their facility on West Main Street. On September 27, 2004, the Emmitsburg Planning and Zoning Commission approved the revised site plan subject to certain conditions which must be approved by the mayor and Board of Commissioners.
  • On September 7, 2004 the staff oversaw the closing and winterizing of the Emmitsburg Pool. Bids for the 2005 contract are to be let in December.
  • In September , the staff completed and submitted a grant application for $265,000 to the Maryland Department of Housing, Division of Economic and Community Development, for emergency repairs to the Town’s sanitary sewer collection system.
