  • On August 4, 2004 Jenni Joy of Planning and Zoning and I attended a Maryland Smart Codes Seminar in Taneytown conducted by the State of Maryland.
  • On August 18 ,2004 the staff met with representatives of Emmitsburg Glass and Fox and Associates Engineers to discuss preliminary plans and engineering for the new Emmitsburg Glass facility.
  • On August 26, 2004 the staff met with representatives from Fox and Associates to review preliminary plans for a new residential development in Emmitsburg.
  • On August 26, 2004 the staff met with a developer seeking to locate a new dentistís office in the Village Zone.
  • On August 31, 2004 the staff met with representatives of AT&T and concluded negotiations for a cable permit agreement. The agreement has now been reviewed by the Town Attorney and is awaiting the Mayorís signature. Payment of the $103,000 permit fee should be received by the end of September.
  • On August 23, 2004 the Planning and Zoning Commission approved a text amendment to allow certain freestanding signs in the Village Zone and staff has prepared a text amendment to be presented to this Board in October.
  • On August 31, 2004 the staff met with representative of Fox and Associates representing Emmitsburg Osteopathic Clinic to review an updated site plan for their planned addition on West Main Street. Subject to a review of additional parking which may be needed to accommodate the new larger facility, Construction should be able to resume shortly.
