                                                 Town Manager's Report

Streets:

  • Staff fixed the speed bumps on West North Ave

  • Staff installed the hanging baskets on the square and put up the Parks banners

  • Staff repaired a number of street lights

  • Staff cleaned East & West Main Street

Water:

  • Rainbow Lake is now full and holding at the spillway level

  • The roughing filters are now being backwashed twice per day and the DE filters are being done once per week

  • Staff has replaced the control valve at Well #3

  • Staff  has installed new o-rings in the pitless adaptor at well #2

  •  

  • Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 351,834 gpd.  We consumed an average of 306,707 gpd 

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(12.8%).   We purchased 346,600 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 50.9% of this water came from wells 

    •   3.3% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 45.8%  of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • The overland and flow treatment system is now up and running for the season

  • Staff has prepped the piping, pumps & motors at the wastewater plant for painting

  • We received about 5.5 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 4.4 inches)

    • We have a precipitation deficit of 1.5" (up from 0.2" in May) over the last six months, the average precipitation for the period from Jan. 1 thru June 30 is 23.3" and we received 21.8" for that period

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 591,000 gpd (consumed 306,707 gpd) which means that 48.1% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".  

    • We experienced no spills of untreated sewerage during the month of May

  • We exceeded the plant's design capacity seven days in the month of June

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Mondays for the Month of July

Parks:

  • Staff fixed some perimeter posts and cable

  • Staff repainted the picnic tables in both the Memorial and Community Park pavilions due to graffiti

  • Staff performed the monthly maintenance inspection

  • Staff installed a new sink in the locker room at the pool

  • Staff repainted the doors on the bathroom in Community Park due to grafiti
