                                                 Town Manager's Report

Streets:

  • Staff installed 10 Daughters of Charity 200 Year Celebration Banners

  • Staff has repaired a number of street lights

  • Staff salt treated a number of streets

  • Staff made a number of cold patch street repairs

Water:

  • Rainbow Lake is now full and holding at the spillway level

  • The roughing filters are now being backwashed twice per day and the DE filters are being done once per week

  • Staff  is continuing to perform a system loss survey.  As part thereof we have replaced a valve on Riffle Road and repaired a leak on Creamery Way

  •  

  • Staff has been working with McCrone Engineering and Contractors related to additional testing of wells & and "J" pursuant to the design of the Emit Gardens Water Plant                                                                       

  • Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 335,621 gpd.  We consumed an average of 283,385 gpd 

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(15.5%).   We purchased 318,950 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 47.1% of this water came from wells 

    •   3.4% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 49.5%  of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • The overland and flow treatment system remains shut-down for the seaseon

  • Staff had roto-rooter cut roots out of the sewer main on Park Drive in Emmit Gardens

  • We received about 0.8 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.0 inches)

    • We have a precipitation surplus of 1.7" over the last six months. The average precipitation for the period from Sept. 1 thru Feb. 28 is 21.5" and we have received 23.2" for that period. 

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 365,000 gpd (consumed 283,385 gpd) which means that 22.4% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".  

    • We experienced no spills of untreated sewerage during the month of February 

  • We did not exceed the plant's design capacity in the month of February

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of March, 2009

Parks:

  • Staff made all standard checks and emptied trash cans

  • Staff made a few repairs to the fencing and the back-stops at the Little League Fields

  • Staff worked on the new ceiling in the pool pavilion
