Town Manager's Report

Streets:

  • Staff repaired a number of street and stop signs

  • Staff has repaired a number of street lights

  • Staff plowed snow and salted a number of streets 

  • Staff worked with Miller Electric to repair street lights in Pembrook

  • Staff installed some rumble strips on Lincoln Avenue

  • Staff cold patched a few streets and pot holes

Water:

  • The staff air lanced roughing filters No. 2 & 3

  • The roughing filters are being backwashed once everyday and the DE filters are  being done once every week

  • Staff repaired the six inch water main just east of the water treatment plant

  • Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 298,291 gpd.  We consumed an average of 271,825 gpd.

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(8.8%).   We purchased 350,000 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 47.6% of this water came from wells 

    •  3.8% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 48.6% of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • Staff has brought the over-land flow treatment system on line for the season

  • We received about 4.6 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.95 inches)

    • We have exceeded the average precipitation by 4.6" over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from October1 thru March 31 is 21.2" and we have received 25.8" for that period

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 840,000 gpd (consumed 271,825 gpd) which means that 67.6% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water"

    • We experienced one spill of untreated sewerage during the month of March. On March 1st there was a spill of 5,900 gals at MH98 near the pumping station

    • We exceeded the plant's design capacity on twelve days in the Month of March

    • 03/01  2,061,000 gal.;   03/02  2,717,000 gal.;   03/03  1,003,000 gal;       

    • 03/16  1,267,000 gal;    03/17  1,031,000 gal;    03/18     935,000 gal

    • 03/19  1,126,000 gal;    03/20  1,342,000 gal;    03/21     845,000 gal

    • 03/23     945,000 gal;    03/24  1,365,000 gal;    03/25     890,000 gal

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of April., 2007 

Parks:

  • Staff pumped out the pool for cleaning and start-up

  • Staff made standard checks of all parks ---trash cans, bathrooms, etc.

  • Staff repaired a number of busted pipes at the pool
