Town Manager's Report
November  2006

Streets:

  • Staff cleaned East & West Main Street

  • Staff has repaired a number of street lights

  • Staff has placed snow flags on the fire hydrants around Town

  • Staff put up the Town Christmas tree and decorated Main Street

Water:

  • As the lake water has cooled staff has discontinued the injection of coagulant treatment at Well #3

  • The roughing filters are being backwashed once everyday and the DE filters are  being done once every week

  • Delauter should have the new water main from the intersection of Main Street and South Seton Avenue tested and on line within the next week.  Then the temporary water service can be removed and work can begin on the replacement of the sanitary sewer lines in that section of the South Seton Water & Sewer Rehab Project

  • Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 318,894 gpd.  We consumed an average of 281,880 gpd.

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(11.6%).   We purchased 531,400 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 52.7% of this water came from wells 

    •  5.5% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 41.8% of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • Staff is de-sludgeing Lagoon #2 at the wastewater treatment plant

  • We received about 5.0 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.8 inches)

    • We have exceeded the average precipitation by 3.2" over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from June1 thru November 30 is 23.20" and we have received 26.40" for that period

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 759,000 gpd (consumed 281,880 gpd) which means that 63% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water"

    • We experienced no spills of untreated sewerage during the month of November

    • We exceeded the plant's design capacity on nine days in the Month of November 

    • 11/01      858,000 gal.;   11/02  891,000 gal.;   11/08  2,249,000 gal;       

    • 11/12  1,257,000 gal.;    11/13  825,000 gal.;   11/16  1,949,000 gal.;

    • 11/17  1,041,000 gal.;    11/22  836,000 gal.;   11/23     985,000 gal.

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday. However, there will not be any trash pick-up on (Christmas Day) Monday, December 25, 2006 and New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, 2007

 

Parks:

  • Staff has been performing standard mowing & trimming

  • The prefabricated bathroom for Community Park has been delivered and final connection has been completed
