AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND
TITLE 17
OF THE CODE OF EMMITSBURG
ENTITLED
PUBLIC SERVICES
RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED, this ______ day of ___________________, 2004, by the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the Town of Emmitsburg, Maryland, pursuant to the authority granted to them by the laws of Maryland and the Charter of the
Town of Emmitsburg, that Title 17; Section 17.12.010 and Section 13.08.090of the Emmitsburg Municipal Code be, be amended as follows:
The amended section of this regulation read as follows with new wording indicated in BOLD CAPITAL letters and deleted words in strike out
17.12.010 Authorization and appointment.
The board of appeals is authorized. Such board shall consist of two members and one town council representative THREE MEMBERS, all of whom shall be taxpayers and residents of the town. The
members of the board of appeals shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the commissioners. Members shall be appointed for a period of three years. Vacancies shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term only. Members of the Board shall serve without
compensation. Two alternate members shall be appointed to serve when a regular member is absent or otherwise unable to attend. (Ord. 97-13: Ord. 95-22 º 1; prior code Art. XI (Art. IX º 1.0))
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, ENACTED AND ORDAINED, that this Ordinance shall take effect on the day of , 2004 and the Town Clerk shall post a copy thereof at the Town Office and one other public place within the Town, as designated by the
Mayor on the day of _____, 2004.
