General Livestock Information
- Because there is no split week for livestock, it may be necessary to limit the number of livestock due to the limited stable space. Entries must be received by August 6, 2007. Entries will be accepted on a first received basis. Depending upon
the number of entries, it may also be necessary to restrict the number of animals an exhibitor may show. Entrants will be notified within one week as to the number of livestock that can be shown at the Fair.
- All successful entrants must have livestock on the fairgrounds by Tuesday, August 21 2007, at 12:00 noon. 4-H and FFA Market Steers must arrive for weigh in on Monday, August
20, 2007, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. unless prior arrangements
are made or an emergency arises. Contact Darlene Resh at 334-6271. Livestock may not be removed before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007.
- Exhibitors are expected to display or parade the animals as directed by the Superintendent; to accept the stall assigned without controversy; to keep the animals in an attractive appearance; and to cooperate with the Department in order to
increase the educational value of the show. Be sure to use only grooming products that are approved for use on meat and dairy animals when fitting your animals for show. Unapproved products may contain ingredients that result in unacceptable residues in the meat or
milk. If uncertain whether a product is residue safe and approved for use on meat or dairy animals, do not use it. Important - If upon slaughter treatment with drugs, biologics or any chemical from fitting products is the cause of condemnation of a carcass, the loss
of the carcass and any other damages will be borne by the exhibitor.
- Livestock exhibitors are responsible for knowing when livestock is judged. Stock must be in the ring promptly when called. Failure to comply may result in the exhibitor being disqualified.
- There is no entry fee for exhibiting in 4-H and FFA classes.
- 4-H and FFA members showing in the dairy class are restricted to two animals per project. Members showing in the sheep and swine classes should see exception under that department.
- If a 4-H or FFA member wishes to exhibit in the open classes, it will be necessary to pay the standard entry fee with no limitation as to the number of animals that may be shown.
- Entry Fee - $2.00 per animal. Entries close August 6, 2007.
