tour will also include an overview of the shops and
sites in historic Emmitsburg’s downtown area. This
features visit of the Vigilant Fire Hose Company, dating
back to the early 1800’s. On the premises you can tour a
now working fire company and see its archived fire
equipment dating back to its beginning. The museum
includes an original hand-pulled hose cart and other
historic fire department artifacts.
Main Street is lined with small shops full of a
variety of both the old and new. Also many stores are
filled with delectable delicacies. This tour will also
feature a unique and memorable dining experience in a
historic setting.
