Thurmont recently welcomed its first full-service salon and day spa. Owned by Claire Bennett of Thurmont, the salon is more than your typical hair salon. Renovations celebrated its grand opening with an open house recently.

Just walk in the door and you’ll see that Claire has spent many hours in making the spa look luxurious and relaxing. "I wanted to offer a place where women can unwind and be pampered," she said.

Pampering is definitely on the menu. Renovations offers full service hair services, manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, waxing, facials, massage, aromatherapy and reflexology body treatments.

Claire is also very proud of her staff. "We have very qualified staff here. Everyone is fully licensed," she said. Claire herself has 12 years of experience as a nail technician. She started her career working at her mom’s nail salon, Pris and Shirl’s Magic Touch. After her mom retired, Claire found that she missed all the business of a salon with many people working there. "I decided to open up my own salon and offer a variety of services…. something new and different for Thurmont," she said. "Our goal is to have you look and feel your best," said Claire.

Renovations Salon and Day Spa is a full-service facility, conveniently located at 120 Frederick Road, suite E, in Thurmont. The salon and day spa is open Tuesday and Thursday 11:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday 8:00 to 2:00 p.m. Spa parties, including a princess party, are held 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Matrix, Back to Basics, TIGI and OPI retail products are available.
