Mr. Robert June Wetzel

Robert June Wetzel, age 68, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, September 9, 2011 at his home on Wetzel Mountain.

Born June 3, 1943 in Emmitsburg, he was the son of the late Charles Russell and Elizabeth Hattie (Eyler) Wetzel.

He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Nancy Nadean (Moser) Wetzel.

He owned and operated Robert Wetzel’s Refuse Removal Service with his family for over 14 years. Upon retirement, he then worked for his son at Tim’s Garage as a mechanic. He enjoyed crabbing with family and friends in his boat, and cruising around in his 1958 Ford Fairlane. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes, listening to country music and swimming in his pool up on Wetzel Mountain.

Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Robert Timothy Wetzel and wife Trina of Emmitsburg, and Melissa Marie Wetzel and partner Kimberly Valentine with daughter Taylor Cannon of Fairfield, PA; grandchildren, Robert "T.J." Eiker, Tonya Jean Wetzel, and Andrew Timothy Wetzel; siblings, Kenneth Wetzel, Edward Wetzel and wife Patsy, Shirley Moser and husband Charles, and Linda Humerick and husband Paul all of Emmitsburg, John Wetzel and wife Mary Lou of Rouzerville, PA; former spouse, Mary Ott Flickinger of Emmitsburg; step-daughters, Betty Ward and Mary Mitchell both of Taneytown; 9 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, Ruth Andrew, Betty Miller, Russell Wetzel, Mary Diehl, and Ronnie Wetzel.
