 Arabelle V. Valentine

Arabelle V. Valentine, 87, of Emmitsburg, died peacefully Friday, May 21, 2010, at St. Catherine's Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Emmitsburg.

Born Aug. 2, 1922, in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Harry O. and Alva S. Catherine (Eyler) Fogle. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Valentine, in 1986.

She was a farmer alongside her husband for many years, and had retired from St. Joseph's Provincial House as a dietary aide. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are children, Catherine Fogle Pittinger of Emmitsburg and Steven W. Valentine and wife, Amy, of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Pamela Rinehart Polk and Tara Nicole Speak; great-grandchildren, Sara Maring and Nicole Speak; and siblings, Thomas B. Fogle of Emmitsburg, Isabelle Falcone of Emmitsburg, MaryAnna Buffington of New Midway and Madeline Warner of Taneytown. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by siblings, C. Marie Fogle, Harry M. Fogle, Oscar A. Fogle Sr., Floyd S. Fogle and William E. Fogle.
