 Mr. Lawrence Joseph Ott

Mr. Lawrence Joseph Ott, 81, of Thurmont, died Thursday, Jan.1, at his home.

He was the husband of Viola Marie Eyler Ott, whom he married in 1941.

Born March 19, 1922, in Emmitsburg, he was a son of the late John Baptist and Ida Amanda Miller Ott Sr.

Mr. Ott was a member of St. Anthony's Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg.

He had been employed as a plumber with Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg.

Surviving in addition to his wife at home are six children, Lee Ott and wife Cindy of Emmitsburg, Judy Allis and husband Lin of Waynesboro, Pa., Gloria Krietz of Thurmont, Richard A. Ott and wife Darlene of Thurmont, Patsy Azzarello and husband Mike of Daytona, Fla., and Bonnie Ott of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Weatherly of Fairfield, Pa., and Doris Asper of Hanover, Pa.; and two brothers, Charles Ott and John B. Ott Jr., both of Emmitsburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He will also be remembered by special friends, Diane Robinson and Donnie and Nancy Creager.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth Andrew, Mary Sutton and Frances Matthews; and two brothers-in-law, Wayne Lingg and Eugene Krietz.

Mr. Ott is at Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont, where friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at St. Anthony's Shrine Parish with Fr. Jim Hannon assisted by Ruth Ann Ward as the celebrants, 16150 St. Anthony Road, Emmitsburg, Interment will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Frederick.

Bearers will be all grandsons Larry Krietz, Tom Krietz, Steve Lingg, Randy Stidom, Mike Azzarello Jr., Randy Ott and John Glass.
