Mr. Guy Raymond (Mac) McGlaughlin

Mr. Guy Raymond (Mac) McGlaughlin, 84, of Waynesboro Pike, Emmitsburg, died on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at Gettysburg Hospital, Gettysburg, Pa.

Born August 27, 1920 in Fairfield, Pa., he was a son of the late James B. and Alice Peters McGlaughlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Tatum McGlaughlin on October 16, 1990.

He was a member of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg; a member of American Legion, Francis X, Elder Post 121 of Emmitsburg; a member of Fairfield Vol. Fire Co., Fairfield, Pa.; a life member of Vigilant Hose Co., Emmitsburg; a member of Vigilant Hose Co., Hall of Fame and was a past chief for seven years. He also played professional baseball for two years with the Philadelphia Athletics farm team. He was a sergeant in the Army Air Force during WWII. He was a barber in Emmitsburg for more than 50 years.

He is survived by a daughter, Glenda Ridenour and husband Guy of Emmitsburg; three grandchildren, Dale Ridenour, Linda Lingg and husband Steve and Wayne Ridenour, all of Emmitsburg; one great grandson, Cole Ridenour of Waynesboro, Pa.; and one brother, Wayne McGlaughlin of Gettysburg, Pa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo McGlaughlin and Calvin McGlaughlin.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20 from Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg with, his pastor, the Rev. Jon Greenstone officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery, Fairfield, Pa. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 19 at the Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m.
