Jeff Bates Headlines Special Concert to Celebrate 50 Years of The Adams County Apple Blossom Festival

(4/12) To celebrate the 50th year of the Apple Blossom Festival, the Adams County Fruit Growers Association is hosting a special concert on Saturday, May 7. The Apple Blossom Festival has been held every year at the South Mountain Fairground, 10 miles northwest of historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on Route 234 near Arendtsville. Tickets for the show with Cowboy Crush and Jeff Bates are $10.

Cowboy Crush will open the show, which is being sponsored by local Country Station WGTY. This sassy group of five females brings attitude and ability to every performance. With Trenna Barnes on vocals, Becky Priest on piano, Renae Truex offering her barn-burning fiddle playing, Debbie Johnson and Darla Perlozzi keep the rhythm moving on bass and drums. The audience will be familiar with their new single, "Nobody Ever Died of a Broken Heart", available on Asylum Records.

Once the girls have the crowd on their feet, Jeff Bates will enter the stage for a 1 PM performance. Bates, known for his deep voice and deep personality, brings to the stage songs from his life – as true as it is. Signed by RCA Records, audiences will know Jeff for songs like "Long Slow Kisses", " I Wanna Make You Cry", "Already Spent", and songs from his critically acclaimed Rainbow Man.

Tickets for this special concert can be purchased at multiple locations throughout Adams County. Jane’s Market in Biglerville will sell tickets. Napa Auto Parts will sell tickets from their three locations in Gettysburg, Hanover, and Taneytown. Kennie’s Market will have tickets available at their Gettysburg, Spring Grove, Taneytown, and Littlestown stores. McCleaf’s Furniture in York Springs, and the West Manchester Mall Customer Service Center will also have tickets available.

The 50th Annual Apple Blossom Festival runs May 7 and 8 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Admission is only $5 for adults; children under 12 are free. Ample parking is available free of charge.
