"The Five Irish Tenors"

(1/27) Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. with The Five Irish Tenors. Following in the footsteps of the great Irish Tenor John McCormack, in a sensational program, "The Five Irish Tenors" fuses Irish wit and boisterous charm, with lyricism, dramatic flair and operatic style to bring you a unique Irish tenor concert experience.

Accompanied by two extraordinary pianists on two Steinway Model D grand pianos, the concert will feature beloved Irish songs and opera arias in combinations of tenor solos, duets, trios, quartets, quintets and tutti , this distinctive program includes, among others, W.B Yeats's "Down by the Sally Gardens," Verdi's "O Mio Rimorso" from La Traviata, Cherubini Bixio's "Mamma, The Rose of Tralee," Cesar Frank's "Paris Angelicus," Mozart's "Il Mio Tesoro," "She Moves Through the Fair," "Will You Go Lassie Go," and the glorious "Danny Boy," performed by Ireland’s most legendary tenors.

Members of the quartet -David Martin, Morgan Crowley, Ciarán Kelly, Alan Leech and George Hutton hail from diverse backgrounds of musical theater, classical music and of course, traditional Irish music. Each of them has had a solo career in the U.S., Ireland and elsewhere, and they combined their forces and voices a few years ago. This concert project is the first tour ever in North America of Ireland’s most popular ensemble, and has been specially recreated from the major cities in Ireland for the United States.
