Welcome to the website
of Lucas' South Carolina Battalion. Please feel free to
browse through our website.
Although
the battlefields are quiet, they offer us visions of their
past and stand as a monument for us to see today.
As a new organization,
our main objective is to raise awareness and
educate the public and provide a family friendly
atmosphere, striving for a authentic portrayal (or
historically accurate) of a South Carolinian Volunteer from
the Charleston, South Carolina Area. Please be advised,
we are portraying the infantry aspect of this unit and
the Marylanders who gallantly traveled to Charleston and
enlisted there for the defense of the South.
We are
headquartered in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
We need your help! If
you are a descendant and would like to contribute any
material no matter the size of the story, (prewar, war, or
postwar) for our archives - such as memoirs, photographs,
and letters on the members of Lucas' Battalion, please
contact us at
John@emmitsburg.net.
Lucas' South Carolina Battalion's past is slowly fading
away. Information on the regiment is very limited and it's
up to people such as ourselves to see that it's name, those
who served, and the battlefields that they fought on are
preserved for future generations.
